The NBA made the right call — Russell Westbrook did not deserve the technical foul Ed Malloy gave him Sunday. The NBA rescinded it Monday.
That move also keeps Oklahoma City’s playoff dreams alive.
The Thunder and Pelicans are tied for the final playoff spot in the West with two games left, but the Pelicans have the tiebreaker. OKC plays Portland Monday night in a difficult must win (because New Orleans plays struggling Minnesota and likely picks up a win). The Thunder cannot fall a game back and still get in the playoffs. And with a terrible defense the Thunder were not going to beat the Trail Blazers without the Westbrook show.
The question is can they beat the Blazers with him?
