The Celtics waived veteran forward Shavlik Randolph this week for not committing to a non-guaranteed deal for next season. Now, Randolph has a new home in Denver:

ESPN.com’s Marc Stein has been reporting since Randolph was waived by the Celtics that Denver was a likely destination, mostly because of the financial implications.
Denver still $1.9M below salary floor. Claiming Randolph would add $1.2M salary to books while in reality owing him mere pro-rated pittance

The Nuggets are well out of the playoff picture at this point, but claiming Randolph not only helps them get closer to the salary floor, it also gives them another veteran who will probably at least get a training camp invite next season.
