It’s almost time for NBA writers (this one not included) to vote for the end-of-season awards. It’s not uncommon for teams to send out promotional packages to media members with a vote to make the case for their players for certain awards. Last year, the at-the-time Bobcats sent reporters cans of paint and created a paint-themed website to promote Al Jefferson’s candidacy for an All-NBA team. Now, the Hornets have created a website for “MKG Security” and are sending this security kit out to lobby for Michael Kidd-Gilchrist to make the first or second All-Defensive team:

The website features this commercial, which combines Kidd-Gilchrist defensive highlights with music and graphics that resemble one of those LifeLock ads:
Who knows whether the Hornets’ efforts will be successful, but you have to give them credit for their creativity with these things.
