Tonight’s game against the Suns is crucial for the Pelicans: a win will put them back in the driver’s seat for the eighth seed in the Western Conference. But they might be without Anthony Davis, who apparently sprained his ankle during shootaround.
From the team’s official website:
The New Orleans Pelicans recently went 4-1 while Anthony Davis was sidelined by a right shoulder injury. New Orleans (37-30) may again have to try to win without its best player tonight.
During the Pelicans’ morning shootaround, the two-time All-Star rolled his left ankle. He is being listed as questionable to play vs. the Suns. Monty Williams told the media after shootaround that Davis will be a game-time decision.
Between Davis’ lingering problems and the Thunder’s never-ending set of injuries (most recently Serge Ibaka being sidelined four to six weeks with a knee injury), the race for the final playoff spot in the West is going to go down to the wire. It may simply be the team that’s the healthiest.
