Phil Jackson bemoans Knicks on Twitter

The Knicks are 0-2 since the All-Star break, extending their losing streak to seven games.

Their latest losses – a 24-point drubbing by the Heat and 18-point setback to the Cavaliers – have been blowouts.

The defeat to Cleveland featured former Knicks J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert showing up New York.

Phil Jackson is not pleased:

Announcement: ProBasketballTalk’s partner FanDuel is hosting a one-day $250,000 Fantasy Basketball league for Monday’s NBA games. It’s $25 to join and first prize is $25,000. Starts at 7:30pm ET on Monday. Here’s the FanDuel link.

This seems like Jackson trying to motivate his team, a modern twist on his old coaching tricks.

But these barely readable tweets – common for him – don’t disguise the Knicks’ real problem.

Remember, it was Jackson who oversaw the plan of Carmelo Anthony playing in the All-Star game and then shutting it down for the rest of the season. It was Jackson who bought out Amar’e Stoudemire. It was Jackson who traded Pablo Prigioni.

The Knicks are clearly angling for the highest draft pick possible – which is the smart thing to do. Griping from the front office between now and the lottery just comes across as petty and misguided.
