Nuggets coach Brian Shaw reading books on how to connect with his millennial players

The Nuggets stink.

They’d lost 13 of 14 before last night’s win over the Lakers, and that result seemed to be a product of the Lakers’ ineptitude rather than Denver turning a corner.

Brian Shaw is doing anything he can, including rapping, to get the Nuggets on track.

The coach’s latest strategy?

Rachel Nichols on the TNT telecast of that Lakers game:

Head coach Brian Shaw has acknowledged he’s had some trouble communicating with his players, and it’s gotten so bad that he told us he started reading some books on how to relate to millennials or Generation Y players, as he put it. Shaw said he’s been frustrated that these players seem to need to need more praise than in his day, that they’re easily distracted. He even tried taking their cell phones away from them an hour before game time, putting them in a box so they’ll concentrate on the film.

As a millennial, I’m happy to address this on behalf of all millennials.

First of all, don’t generalize our personalities based on our year of birth. We’re unique individuals, not a bunch of clones a book can dissect like an instruction manual. And we’re sure going to mock anyone who tries to understand us by reading a book like that.

Secondly – BRB, my phone is vibrating.
