On Sunday, an email surfaced from Knicks owner James Dolan to a disgruntled fan, in which Dolan told the man to go root for the Nets, and called him an “alcoholic,” probably. But he won’t be punished by the league, commissioner Adam Silver told the New York Post‘s Tim Bontemps:
“Jim is a consummate New Yorker,” Silver said. “Jim got an unkind email and responded with an unkind email.”
Fair enough, I guess. It’s not a great look for Dolan, but it’s not anything that would compel the league to take action. This isn’t a Donald Sterling situation.
