The Lakers played the Cavaliers on Sunday. Kevin Love has the ability to opt out of his contract and become a free agent this summer. Kevin Love played college basketball at UCLA and has been linked to the Lakers in rumors for some time. So it goes without saying that after the game, Love was asked about his impending free agency.
This time, he was pretty definitive:
Would Lakers be an option for Kevin Love this summer? Love:”I’m a Cleveland Cavalier.” Any scenario where Love would join Lakers? Love: “No”

Things can obviously change, but Love easily could have said “We’ll see what happens,” or “I’m only focused on this season.” The fact that he explicitly said that no, he wouldn’t join the Lakers, is encouraging news for Cavs fans.
It helps that the Cavs have won 12 of their last 13 and have more or less answered the scrutiny they faced a month ago. Hopefully this time, Love’s comments will put an end to this story for a while.
