When you think of the great three-point shooters the game has seen, Paul Pierce’s name doesn’t just roll off the tongue.
But maybe it should. With that shot above Pierce became only the fourth player in NBA history to have 2,000 or more made three pointers. The other three? Ray Allen, Reggie Miller and Jason Terry (and Terry is only 23 ahead of Pierce).
Pierce is a career 37.1 percent from three and, while he can hit his shot from anywhere along the arc, he’s sweet spot this season is from the top of the key where he is shooting 59.3 percent.
