Now that the Atlanta Hawks are finally for sale after this summer’s racism controversy, the buyers are starting to emerge. NBA.com’s David Aldridge is reporting that former NBA players Grant Hill and Junior Bridgeman, along with former Suns and Raptors GM Bryan Colangelo, are putting together a group to make a bid for the Hawks.

It will probably be a while before a group is finalized. The NBA has come out strongly and insisted that the Hawks will not move from Atlanta, so that rules out any group planning on moving the franchise. Buying the Hawks is an attractive move right now: they have the best record in the Eastern Conference, and their attendance isn’t great but it’s a talented, fun team that could become very popular if marketed the right way.
