David Blatt, as pressure mounts, got nosebleed during press conference

The 18-12 Cavaliers are pretty good, but not nearly as good expected – which has triggered all kinds of speculation and rumors about the high-profile team.

Could LeBron James leave? Would Kevin Love? And of course: Will David Blatt be forced to go?

The Cleveland coach hasn’t exactly impressed to begin his NBA career, struggling to manage a rotation and implement his offense. Cavaliers management is reportedly questioning whether he can reach the team, an understandable concern considering Blatt’s – to be fair, minor – public disagreements with LeBron.

LeBron gave a tepid endorsement of Blatt, but the pressure has not subsided.

Dave McMenamin of ESPN:

I’ll take the dry-weather excuse at face value. Coaching the Russians in the 2012 Olympics, Blatt also got a nose bleed. He might just be susceptible to them.

But if Blatt doesn’t survive with the Cavaliers, fairly or not, this will be seen as a defining and illustrative moment of his tenure.
