You cannot do that, Samuel Dalembert.
Early in the third quarter the Knicks come down and start setting up the triangle with Dalembert in the post and Jose Calderon on the wing, and Toronto’s Jonas Valanciunas — who likes the physical play — moves around to front Dalembert and gives him a little forearm to the chest.
Dalembert responded with the elbow to the face of Valanciunas. He was instantly ejected on the play. As he should have been.
Now the league has tacked on a $15,000 fine in addition, it announced Monday.
Maybe Dalembert wanted to get ejected so he didn’t have to watch any more of the Raptors easy win over the Knicks, 118-108. I wouldn’t blame him, it was not a pretty game to watch.
