Byron Scott plans to make changes to Lakers’ starting lineup

The Lakers are 3-13, and Byron Scott is fed up. After ripping into his players on Friday night followinv a loss to the Timberwolves, it looks like he’s planning to make some changes to the starting lineup at some point in the near future.

The Lakers’ current starting five of Jeremy Lin, Kobe Bryant, Wesley Johnson, Carlos Boozer and Jordan Hill gives up 121.7 points per 100 possessions on defense, by far the worst defensive rating of any five-man lineup in the NBA that has played at least 100 minutes.

Unfortunately, there isn’t much Scott can do to the starting lineup with the personnel he has that will make the team significantly better. Switching out Lin for Ronnie Price and Boozer or Hill for Ed Davis are the likeliest changes to make. It’s tough to see how that will help. This team simply doesn’t have the talent to win games.
