Carmelo Anthony listed as doubtful for Wednesday’s game at Dallas

Carmelo Anthony left New York’s loss to the Rockets on Monday with back spasms, and was unable to return.

He was in too much pain afterward to speak to reporters, and his discomfort continued a day later to the point where he was held out of practice.

From Knicks PR:

Carmelo Anthony did not practice today in Dallas with the team and is listed as doubtful for tomorrow with back spasms.

Announcement: Pro Basketball Talk’s partner FanDuel is hosting a one-day $200,000 Fantasy Basketball league for Tuesday’s NBA games. It’s $25 to join and first prize is $20,000. Starts at 7:00pm ET on TuesdayHere’s the FanDuel link.

The Knicks will be hard-pressed to even compete if Anthony is unable to go, considering they’ll be facing a Mavericks team that not only boasts the league’s best offense, but is coming off of an embarrassing home loss to a similarly undermanned Pacers squad.

Anthony leads the Knicks in scoring with an average of 23.2 points per contest, while Amar’e Stoudemire is second on the team in scoring with an 11.7 points per game average.
