The Knicks lost to the Rockets 91-86, but much more worrying was a back injury to Carmelo Anthony that forced him to the bench early.
From ESPN.com’s Ian Begley:
Anthony appeared to land awkwardly after attempting a jump shot with two minutes to play in the second quarter.
He tried to play through the injury but asked to be taken out of the game on the next possession.
Anthony’s status going forward is unknown.
Carmelo Anthony in obvious discomfort, heading to locker room late in the second quarter. Unclear what happened.

Knicks say Carmelo won’t speak to the media tonight. In a lot of pain.

The Knicks play the Mavericks in Dallas. It’s unclear whether Anthony will play, but at 4-11, they can ill afford the loss of their best player.
