Sixers fall behind Mavericks by 44 points…at halftime

Earlier Thursday, Philadelphia 76ers guard Michael Carter-Williams published an essay on the Players’ Tribune chafing at the notion that his team is tanking. And then, well…

Philadelphia ended the first half trailing the Dallas Mavericks 73-29. They had 10 points in the first quarter. It’s the Sixers’ largest halftime deficit of the shot-clock era.

The players may not be tanking, per se, but it’s hard to deny that the organization is. There’s bad, and then there’s whatever this is.
