The Cleveland Cavaliers are supposed to be the class of the Eastern Conference but they are off to a 1-3 start. The Knicks new system is in place and the results are a 2-3 start, plus some ugly shooting nights for Carmelo Anthony.
But neither of those fan bases should panic, it’s way too early. That’s what Jenna Corrado and I discuss in this latest PBT Extra.
We knew it would take the Cavaliers some time to find their groove, and this feels in a lot of ways like Miami’s slow start when LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade got together. The difference was Wade had a ring and Bosh was more experienced, LeBron has a lot of teaching to do with Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love (not to mention the rest of the young Cavaliers.
We knew the Knicks would take time to come together — and they need to assemble a roster with more talent that will fit the triangle. It’s not a question of months as much as years for the Knicks, but will James Dolan be that patient.
We also talk about just how ugly the slow start for the Lakers could get.
