Allen Iverson says he would “never” want to be a coach

Allen Iverson has mostly stayed out of the spotlight since officially announcing his retirement a year ago. Other than emotional jersey retirement ceremony in Philadelphia in March, he hasn’t been in the headlines much. But now, he’s coaching a celebrity basketball game in the Philippines, and reporters asked him whether he could ever see himself being a coach.

His response is the most perfect response imaginable (video via Ball Don’t Lie):

Iverson will probably never live down the “Practice” rant. When he is inevitably inducted into the Hall of Fame, there will probably be a reference to it in his speech. It’s as much a part of his legacy as anything else. It’s good to see him be self-aware about it.
