Derrick Rose left the last Bulls game with a sprained ankle when he leapt and came down on Kyrie Irving’s foot. It was a fluke play, but it didn’t seem that bad. Monday, then again at shootaround Tuesday, he was listed as “probable” to play.
But after testing the ankle pregame he will sit out against the Bulls, reports Mark Strotman of CSNChicago.com.
Jimmy Butler and Taj Gibson will play for the Bulls Tuesday but Joakim Noah is out with an illness.
The Bulls travel to Milwaukee on Wednesday for a game, where Rose likely again will be a game time decision.
There are people out there foolishly saying this is just an extension of the injuries that kept Rose out the last two years. That’s just wrong on the face of it. Different part of the leg, and it’s a minor injury from a fluke incident that could happen to anyone any game.
