Michael Kidd-Gilchrist suffers hard fall vs. Knicks (VIDEO)

NEW YORK — Michael Kidd-Gilchrist suffered a nasty fall in the first quarter of this one, after fighting Shane Larkin for a loose ball in midair and then crashing awkwardly to the floor, landing with a loud thud directly on his side.

He remained in the game to play a total of 9:34, before leaving the arena to get a CT scan of his chest. The Hornets said the result was a rib contusion, and his status will remain day-to-day.

After watching the fall occur in real time, this is actually good news, because things certainly could have been a whole lot worse.
