Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, in contention to start at shooting guard for the Pistons, injured his knee Sunday. He had to be helped off the court, always a troubling scene.
But the diagnosis is in, and Caldwell-Pope isn’t hurt too badly.
Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press:
Dave Pemberton of The Oakland Press:
Caldwell-Pope is battling Jodie Meeks, who missed Detroit’s preseason loss Sunday due to injury, for the starting job. At this point, which of the two gets healthiest first will go a long way in determining a victor.
Regardless of who starts to begin the season, Caldwell-Pope is the higher-upside option. Not only is he younger, he’s more athletic – as long as no injuries interfere. It sounds as if this one won’t.
