Lakers reach deal with Ryan Kelly to return to team

Ryan Kelly, a young potential stretch four that showed a little promise last season in Los Angeles, is returning to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Kelly himself confirmed the deal with Dave McMenamin of ESPNLosAngeles.com.

As for details on the deal, those are still a bit scarce but it is apparently a two-year deal, reports Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News.

When the Lakers waived Kendall Marshall it was believed to be to clear room for this signing.

Kelly got in 59 games for the Lakers as a rookie but Mike D’Antoni trusted him more and more as the season wore on. Kelly took nearly 40 percent of his shots from three and hit 33 percent of them. He showed some promise for the potential of an all-around game and being a decent rotation player, and the Lakers are willing to take a two-year gamble on that potential.

Just for the record, the Lakers have signed Ryan Kelly before signing a coach.
