Kentavious Caldwell-Pope lights up Summer League for second straight day (VIDEO)

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope averaged just 5.9 points per game in his rookie season with the Pistons, but also logged 19.8 minutes per game, and started in 41 of his 80 regular season appearances.

That experience has paid off big time during the first two days of Summer League in Orlando, as KCP followed up the 26 points he scored on Saturday with a 30-point outing on Sunday.

He was just 8-of-19 from the field in his first game, but went 10-of-20 from the floor in Sunday’s action, while also managing to grab 12 rebounds.

You don’t want to read too much into Summer League performances, mainly because of how relatively weak the overall level of competition is — especially for someone like KCP, who just came off of a season where he played significant rotation minutes in the NBA on what was essentially a nightly basis.

But you have to like the aggressiveness and confidence he’s shown in these first two games, where he was clearly the best player on the floor in each of them.
