The NBA Combine’s prestige is dropping quickly.
First Joel Embiid and Jabari Parker withdrew from the event, and now Andrew Wiggins will skip it too.
That’s, quite possibly, the top three of the draft – which obviously plays a part in the trio’s decisions. Why risk a bad showing, medically or measurably? Prospects like Wiggins, Embiid and Parker have nowhere to go but down.
The risk is, if they fall at all in the draft, they could fall considerably if teams picking 4-10 or so don’t have enough information to comfortably draft them.
But at this stage, that’s probably a risk worth taking. The combine is not.
