New York teenager arrested, charged with allegedly making online threats to Knicks owner James Dolan

Knicks fans have endured a rough season rooting for their team this year, but that doesn’t mean it’s acceptable to wish harm on those running the franchise.

One teenager in New York allegedly did just that, and now finds himself in trouble with local law enforcement.

From CBS New York (via HoopsHype):

A Staten Island teenager was arrested for allegedly threatening New York Knicks owner James Dolan.

As WCBS 880′s Irene Cornell reported Friday, 19-year-old John Giamella was arrested and hauled into court on a charge of aggravated harassment for allegedly making threats online against Dolan.

He said of the Knicks owner in his email postings, “it’s officially time to die — I really hate James Dolan.”

Apparently, the authorities don’t read Twitter during the team’s games.

All kidding aside, it’s just basketball, people. Taking things to this level, and especially putting it in writing on the Internet for the entire world to see won’t help your favorite team improve any faster.
