Evan Turner hits game-winner at the overtime buzzer to give Sixers win over Nets (VIDEO)

When the Nets played the Sixers just four days ago in Brooklyn, they won by 36 points and honestly, the game wasn’t even that close.

Things were different Friday night in Philadelphia, however, and it had everything to do with the available personnel.

Kevin Garnett took this game off as a day of rest, and Joe Johnson missed it for personal reasons. Add those absences to the fact that Philadelphia got Michael Carter-Williams back in the lineup after missing the last seven games, and we got a much more competitive contest that required overtime to be decided.

The Sixers got the win this time, thanks to a shot from Evan Turner at the overtime buzzer that ultimately found its way home. Paul Pierce hit a huge three on the prior possession, and appeared to be in position to take a charge on Turner before the shot was released. But it’s better to contest shots like this than to try to wait for a call from the official, because with the game on the line, unless something blatant and egregious occurs, that whistle isn’t likely to come.
