Deron Williams ‘on track’ to return for Nets’ next game

The Nets have had their season derailed by injuries thus far, and while having a first-year head coach in Jason Kidd probably isn’t helping given the situation, the fact is that without the team’s full complement of players, it’s impossible to know just how much fault can be placed there.

But the clock will be ticking on Kidd once he begins to get his starters back healthy, and Brooklyn’s most important player in Deron Williams is set to return to the lineup as early as the team’s very next game.

From Tim Bontemps of the New York Post:

The star point guard, who sat out of his ninth straight game and his 11th in the Nets’ last 12 as the Nets topped the Bucks, 90-82 Saturday night, worked out after the team’s morning shootaround and remains on track, barring a setback, to return to the lineup Tuesday in Brooklyn against the Celtics.

“From what I understand I guess he’s still on track to do that,” coach Jason Kidd said.

With or without Williams, Brooklyn will have their hands full with Boston, a team that has been playing far better and more consistently than the Nets have this year, and just beat New York’s other team on Sunday by 41 points.
