Kobe Bryant gives an extended piano performance in new Lenovo ad (VIDEO)

Kobe Bryant is one of Lenovo’s main international pitch men, so it’s not surprising that they’d feature him in their latest advertisement touting their place as the fastest growing mobile brand in the world.

The spot features Bryant explaining how the brand always knows how to deliver incredible performance, before he takes to the piano himself to play a portion of Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata” — for a good minute and a half, if not a little longer.

It’s arguably one of the worst ways to use an athlete or otherwise famous personality in a promotional spot, because after about 20 seconds it just becomes nothing more than a boring piano recital.

But mission accomplished overall, I guess, because we’ve mentioned both the brand and the ad itself while running the video in this space.
