Marco Belinelli is a very San Antonio Spurs player — if you bring him off the bench and ask him to space the floor as a shooter he will do that well. He can put the ball on the floor and drive a little better than you think, but mostly he’s a hired gun from three. We saw in the NBA Finals what kind of damage the Spurs can do with a guy like that — ask him to play a role, just play to his strengths and he will shine.
The Spurs and Belinelli agreed to a two-year deal, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports. The deal is worth $6 million total.
Belinelli, 27, averaged 9.6 points a game in Chicago last season shooting 38,7 percent from three.
This could mean the end of Gary Neal in San Antonio, but Belinelli will fill that role nicely.
