Kenyon Martin drawing interest from Lakers, Clippers, Knicks, more

When the Knicks finally picked up Kenyon Martin off the unemployment line last season it seemed like there could be a fit — he brought the kind of inside hustle and play they needed.

A few teams took notice.

And now that Martin is a free agent he has a few suitors, reports Chris Broussard at ESPN.

What is interesting is pretty much every team there is a veteran squad looking to pick up a guy on a minimum contract. Maybe a team would use part of the tax-payer’s mid-level exception, but none of those teams is are paying much for this reserve big set to turn 36.

Still, he can play some. Martin averaged 7.2 points on 60.2 percent shooting and 5.3 rebounds a game. He also made some big defense plays for the Knicks.

He could be a good fit on any of the teams on that list, but it will come down to can offer the most money or a couple of years. It’s always about the money.
