Stephen Curry sprains ankle in Game 3 loss to Spurs (VIDEO)

Late in the fourth quarter of the Warriors’ Game 3 loss to the Spurs, Stephen Curry came down awkwardly as he came around a screen, tweaking his left ankle in the process.

Curry was noticeably limping, but waved off his coach Mark Jackson in order to stay in for the remainder of the game. He immediately began receiving treatment on the ankle afterward in order to try to get ready for Game 4 (a 12:30 p.m. local time start on Sunday), and was not available to reporters postgame.

Obviously, Golden State’s chances in this series are diminished immensely if Curry is unable to go on Sunday, or plays while severely limited by the injury. But the Spurs had done an excellent job of shutting him down all night long before the unfortunate incident took place.

San Antonio guarded Curry with Danny Green for most of the night, whose length was enough of a nuisance to force Curry into tougher looks than he had been getting over the first two games of the series. Curry finished 5-of-17 from the field and 3-of-9 from three-point distance, and all but one of those shots were taken before the ankle injury.
