Otto Porter leaving Georgetown for NBA Draft

Otto Porter is the latest player to declare for the NBA Draft, leaving Georgetown with two years of eligibility remaining.

Porter makes a strong case for the No. 2 pick behind Nerlens Noel, but Evan Turner might hurt Porter’s case. Turner was also a do-it-all college player who lacked elite athleticism, and that deficiency has held him back with the 76ers. In a copycat league, Turner’s shortcoming will mean Porter faces more predraft questions.

In this draft, which lacks elite prospects, Porter might still rise above a tier that includes players like Ben McLemore, Victor Oladipo, Anthony Bennett and Trey Burke – all of whom could vie for the No. 2 pick.

That leaves only Marcus Smart and Shabazz Muhammad as likely top-10 picks who haven’t declared for the draft.
