Dwyane Wade out Sunday vs. Bobcats as Heat try to extend win streak

If the Miami Heat are to win their 26th consecutive game on Sunday, they’ll have to do it without Dwyane Wade, who will be sidelined due to a sore right knee, the team announced before tip-off.

Wade is listed as day-to-day, and Mike Miller will get the start in his place.

Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra told reporters that Wade bumped the knee a few games back, and that he aggravated it again in Miami’s win over Boston. He has been receiving treatment on it over the past few days, according to Michael Wallace of ESPN.com.

Miami is at home against the Charlotte Bobcats, who come in with a record of 16-53, worst in the entire league. They play at Orlando Monday on the second night of a back-to-back, against a Magic team whose record of 18-52 on the season is second worst to only that of Charlotte’s. Spoelstra said it’s possible that Wade may return for that one.

Wade is averaging 21.5 points, five rebounds, and five assists in 34.8 minutes per game this season.
