Steve Nash only got to the free throw line twice on Wednesday night during the Lakers fifth straight loss. As you expect, he hit both.
With that he moved a little farther ahead of Mark Price as the NBA’ all-time free throw shooting percentage leader, notes Kevin Ding of the Orange County Register.
Nash entered the game Wednesday night in San Antonio having made 2,944 of 3,257 career attempts: 90.3899 percent, barely ahead of Price’s 90.3933. Nash went back and forth with Price throughout last season, but Nash in San Antonio made both of his free throws — both on Stephen Jackson technical fouls — to stay on top for now.
And Nash was able to do that without having to resort to Rick Barry’s underhand shooting style.
