Thaddeus Young wants to start at three spot for Sixers

Thaddeus Young should be on your “Sixth Man of the Year” watch list. He averaged 12.8 points and 5 rebounds a game for the Sixers last year and this season he could bring a surge of athleticism and scoring when he enters the game for the Sixers.

Except he doesn’t want to be on your watch list — he wants to start. At the three.

That’s what he told Dei Lynam of in an interview you can see below.

I like the passion, but it’s hard to see him starting. Coach Doug Collins has said he wants to go big with Andrew Bynum at the five and Spencer Hawes at the four (where Turner has played most of his NBA career), then have Evan Turner at the three. Turner is the heir to Andre Iguodala. Dorell Wright likely plays the three behind Turner.

As Lynam said, if Young wants to play the three, he needs to show better handles and shooting range.

Personally, I think you should keep him on your Sixth Man of the Year watch list.
