This is going to be fun. The Miami Heat are going to get their rings and raise their banner on Oct. 30 in their home opener against the Boston Celtics. Then the Heat — with former Celtic Ray Allen on the roster — will open their title defense against the team they faced in the Eastern Conference finals.

The full NBA schedule will come out later this week but Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel got a sneak peak at some of the early games.

After their home opener the Heat will catch a plane for a Nov. 2 game against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

The NBA final rematch with the Oklahoma City Thunder comes on Christmas Day in Miami. Winderman has more.

The Heat is scheduled for only one visit to Brooklyn to face the Brooklyn Nets, on Jan 30. In addition, the Sun Sentinel has learned the Heat will play Jan. 17 at Staples Center against the Los Angeles Lakers, and then host the Lakers for their lone visit South Florida visit on Feb. 10.

Few champions are used to having a target on their back all season like the Heat, but it will be interesting to see how the team approaches the regular season.
