Cavaliers decline to keep Lester Hudson for the remainder of the season

From the Akron-Beacon Journal’s Jason Lloyd:

#Cavs not renewing Lester Hudson’s contract for final week of season. His second 10 day contract expired after last night’s game

Hudson gave the Cavs some minutes and some scoring while Kyrie Irving was out with an injury, but he didn’t exactly set the world on fire during his stint with the Cavaliers. In 13 games, Hudson averaged 12.7 points and 2.7 assists on 39.1% shooting from the field and 24.6% shooting from the 3-point arc.

While it’s surprising to see a player signed to a 10-day contract not get picked up after scoring more than 10 points a game, there are plenty of guards outside of the NBA capable of scoring 13 points a game while shooting above 40% from the field and 30% from 3, which are essentially basketball’s “Mendoza lines.”
