Popovich: Manu Ginobili to return Saturday vs. Nets

The San Antonio Spurs have done surprisingly well without Manu Ginobili — they have gone 15-7 and won six in a row. We can debate if Tony Parker should be an All-Star or not, but he has stepped up and carried a big load the last 22 games.

Saturday night, Manu Ginobili will be back, tweets Jeff McDonald of the Express-News Spurs Blog. Coach Gregg Popovich announced it to the media Friday. Ginobili practiced full contact on Friday.

Ginobili will come off the bench and play limited minutes the first few games back.

Before he broke his hand on a fluke play on Jan. 2, Ginobili was off to a very fast start, averaging 17.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3 assists per game. His PER was right there at the top of the league with LeBron.

Getting him back and integrated makes the Spurs that much more dangerous. Remember, this team won 61 games last season.
