Chris Bosh probably got it a little raw last season. Before you freak out, bear in mind that I started trashing Bosh and his decision making back when he was at Lakers games in the playoffs before signing with the Heat, soaking up all the attention. I argued that Amar’e Stoudemire was a more valuable free agent than Bosh, even defensively. I pinpointed Bosh as the weak link on the Heat all year, considering his role and responsibilities. But let’s be honest. Things got a little out of control. He was made to be the worst player in the league, the softest player in the league, and a total failure. None of those things are accurate, or true.
This summer, as the stench of the Decision and the Heat’s premature celebration starts to wear off (for Bosh, not for James, who probably will carry that for the remainder of his career), Bosh is enjoying some down time. He’s out of the spotlight for the most part, but making appearances like he did Saturday at an event for the video game Call of Duty along with Kevin Love. He also stated Saturday that the Heat are ready to get back to work, and would be organizing a team workout in the coming weeks regardless of how long the lockout is on.
Bosh said Saturday that he expects the Miami Heat to reconvene sometime soon, even though the NBA lockout has entered its third month with no apparent ending in sight. This would ordinarily be the time of year where most players start ramping up workouts anyway, and Bosh said he will be ready whether training camps begin on time or not.
“We’re going to make some plans. We’re going to plan to do something,” Bosh said in a telephone interview from Los Angeles. “I think just getting around each other, I think it’s important as far as team-building is concerned and just getting something going. We’re pretty much still in the process of doing that.”

The Heat honestly have the most need of any team to spend time together. Chemistry was a major concern last season and they need the time together to get to know one another on and off the floor. The problem is that they will inevitably wind up doing these workouts in too public of a manner. Don’t be shocked if they wind up playing at Cowboys Stadium on a specially brought-in court or something. Have to give James and Bosh this, though, going to a Cowboys game after the Mavericks Finals series takes some guts. Or a lack of self-awareness. Either one.
