Thursday night’s game 4 of the NBA Finals continued to draw some of the best finals ratings of the past decade, drawing an 11.6 overnight rating. That rating represents a six-percent increase from the 10.9 rating drawn by game four of last year’s NBA Finals. (If you remember, game four was the game that featured Derek Fisher making a game-tying three with seconds remaining in regulation, and essentially decided the series.)
The 11.6 rating is the highest rating for a finals game four since the 2004 Finals, when game four of the Lakers-Pistons series drew a 14.5 overnight rating. Overall, this series has drawn higher ratings than the 2008 Lakers-Celtics finals, and the highest ratings since 2004. More good news for the NBA, especially with the CBA expiring after next season.
