Shaquille O’Neal has been working hard — really, we’re serious, that does happen now and again — and could be back for the Cavalier’s regular season finale.
O’Neal had surgery on his right thumb on Feb. 27 after he tore a ligament in a game against the Celtics a couple days prior. He’s been sitting ever since but is near ready to go. Cavs coach Mike Brown told the Cleveland News-Herald that the doctors have the final say.
If he’s healthy, that’s something we’re going to talk about it,” Cavs coach Mike Brown said. “If the doctors clear him (he’ll play).”
Wednesday’s game means nothing to the Cavs (it could have implications for the Hawks). The Cavaliers will need Shaq as they move into the second round of the playoffs and, likely, beyond.
