Michael Finley has come to the Celtics and not sucked. We did not see that coming. He’s shooting 13 percent better overall, eight percent better from three and is scoring four more points a game than he did near the Riverwalk in San Antonio
It’s good for the Celtics. Well, every Celtics not named Brian Scalabrine, who has now been inactive for the last six games. The Boston Herald talked to him about it.
There is a chance Scalabrine could be activated for specific matchups, but he has been given no guarantees.
According to Scalabrine, coach Doc Rivers told him, “Keep on doing what you’re doing. Most importantly now it’s about being a good teammate and always being ready.”
Added Scalabrine: “He said there’s a chance we could just switch it up, so stay ready.”
You have to love the child-like unfailing optimism of NBA players. It’s cute. But we live in reality and in that world we likely have seen the last of Scalabrine in a Celtics uniform. Ever.
And that’s oddly sad.
