The Haier Shooting Stars Competition

Did Carmelo Anthony call Rick Fox a Hall of Famer? Um…

I like Rick Fox. Smart, underrated role player on some very good teams — the Lakers recognized this and picked him up to go along side Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal. Great fit.

But Fox was not a great player. Well, I think that and you think that. Apparently Carmelo sees things differently.

‘Melo was trying to defend star players getting together in Miami and New York (he’s right about that) in and interview with GQ, and in the process said something odd picked up by The Basketball Jones.

I think people fail to realize that teams and organizations have been stacking teams since way back in the day. The Lakers had the Showtime era. Boston had six hall of famers on one team. You had Detroit, the New York Knicks, and now the Miami Heat. They were stacking their teams back then, it just fell off over the years and now it picked back up. Boston did it first, then LA. I was fortunate enough to play against them when they had Shaq, Kobe, Rick Fox, Gary Payton, Karl Malone… that’s five hall of famers on one team! So you can’t get mad at Miami for doing what they did. A lot of people don’t agree on how they did it, or how LeBron did it.

Whoa there, Rick Fox is not a hall of fame basketball player. He may be Emmy worthy, however — his guest spot on Big Bang Theory last season was awesome.

Rick Fox won a few titles with the Lakers once upon a time, but since then, he’s been busy as a kind-of-sometimes actor. He had a nice little bit on HBO’s Oz back in the day. Did well in a cameo on the unfortunately canceled Party Down. There were also rumors that he appeared on One Tree Hill and The Big Bang Theory, but I’m not enough of a masochist to find out for myself.

The point is: the guy has smiled his way into a few acting gigs, and has put on his best performance yet in this nice College Humor short:
