Perks of being the star of the New York Knicks include getting stars to help out with your All-Star Game campaign, getting to see massive billboards of yourself all over town, and getting to go on Late Night with David Letterman.
Amar’e Stoudemire did the latter Thursday night, and talked about his goggles and the eye injury that almost ended his career and led to him wearing goggles nightly.
A couple of weeks ago a report leaked out that the Knicks and Timberwolves were talking about a trade package to bring Sebastian Telfair to New York to back up Raymond Felton.
Well, New York and Minnesota may be talking, but the Knicks are really only interested in Luke Ridnour, not Telfair, according to Alan Hahn at Newsday.
Ridnour is certainly the better of the two guards Minnesota has on the table — better shooter, more assists, and fewer turnovers this season. Which is why the Wolves may be hesitant. The trade chip on the Knicks end is Anthony Randolph, the freakish athlete who has not been able to find steady room in either Don Nelson’s or Mike D’Antoni’s rotations.
This may or may not go anywhere, but look for the Knicks to keep working hard to get a backup point guard in town.
