Al Horford agrees to five-year, $60 million deal to stay with Hawks

One more member of the class of 2007 got an extension.

Just in time for the deadline, Hawks center Al Horford agreed to terms on a five-year, $60 million deal to stay in Atlanta, according to a tweet from Michael Cunningham of the Journal Constitution. Incentives in the deal are still being decided, according to the report.

That will buy you a few meals at the Woodfire Grill for sure, and is the same length and money Joakim Noah was given by the Bulls. The only other member of the class to get an extension was Kevin Durant, who got the max. As he should.

This seemed like the Hawks needed to make this deal — they gave Joe Johnson a crazy six-year, $120 million deal but five years from how Horford will be more central to the Hawks than Johnson.

Horford was an All-Star last year who anchors the middle for Atlanta, and is averaging 14.3 points and 9.7 rebounds per game so far for the 3-0 Hawks.
