Miami Heat v New Jersey Nets

Dwyane Wade returned to Heat lineup Tuesday

In the balancing act of how patient the Miami Heat want to be with Dwyane Wade versus the need to have him on the court, the scales have tipped in the other direction.

Wade was back in the starting lineup for the Heat against the Golden State Warriors Tuesday night, reports our own Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel. Wade had missed three games with what was described as a bruised foot, but also could have been a mild mid-foot sprain or even mild plantar fasciitis, according to the team.

“It’s discomfort,” he said. “It’s going to be discomfort. I didn’t feel any pain today and that’s kind of how I go about it, see if I feel any pain. Discomfort is what athletes play with, so I’m not worried about that, as long as there’s no pain.”

The timing was interesting as the Heat are on the first night of a back-to-back, with the second game being a much-anticipated showdown with the high-flying Clippers on Wednesday. One might have thought they would have sat Wade one more night and had him rested for Los Angeles, but apparently they wanted to show the Warriors that guards can overcome foot and ankle injuries to play.
