“I’m done with music. I’m a success.”
Ron Artest is not done with music. He was joking around after talking about how his song Champions is going to sell one million copies — because it is part of the soundtrack for NBA 2K11. He was talking with the amazing Kevin Ding of the Orange County Register about that.
“What else is there to do when you sell a million copies? There’s nothing else to do.”
Artest had recorded Champions well before he actually won a title, the story notes.
Artest talked about how he was advised to hold off on releasing the record until he won a championship, which has worked out quite well for him.
“I didn’t have to do any commercials or marketing,” he said.
NBA 2K11 has been a hot seller, with it’s ability to put vintage Chicago Bulls teams in the mix with today’s NBA — classic Jordan against classic Kobe at your fingertips. Ron Artest could play himself, on these Lakers, trying to stop MJ.
“I don’t care about none of that stuff, just my song,” Artest said, smiling.
