Bad news for New Orleans Pelicans fans. Four year veteran Solomon Hill tore his hamstring this week, and could miss the entire season.
News first broke from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, who says Hill has already undergone surgery to repair his hamstring.
Hill, 26, played significant minutes for New Orleans last season and signed a 4-year, $48 million deal last summer to remain with the Pelicans.
This is a huge blow for New Orleans as Hill was sure to be a large factor in their team next season. The Pelicans are trying to get a full year of Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins under their belt, and Hill would have been a big part of their frontcourt rotation.
The Western Conference certainly did not get any easier this summer with so many stars, including Paul George and Jimmy Butler, heading that direction. New Orleans was always going to struggle at the bottom of the playoff race, but now it looks like they will have to scramble with limited flexibility thanks to the cap space taken up by Hill’s deal.
