When Chris Paul was traded to the Clippers, the general consensus was it was a great move for Los Angeles so long as CP3’s knees held up.
Turns out, it was the Hornets who should have been warned about Eric Gordon.
He has played only two games for the Hornets this season due to a right knee injury and now he will undergo arthroscopic surgery on it, the team announced late Monday. That means he will be out about another six weeks.
“After consulting with our medical staff, we concluded that surgery was the best route and in the best interest of Eric for the long term. We had hoped with rest and rehab, Eric’s knee would have healed.” General Manager Dell Demps said in a released statement. “Eric is eager to return to the court and we are confident Hornet Fans will get to see him soon.”
It’s been a rough season for New Orleans, who with a win Monday night now have five on the season. Gordon was the star coming back for Chris Paul, the future All-Star two guard who the Hornets could use as a building block. Still can. Just not much this year.
