Sacramento Kings v Phoenix Suns

Report: Grant Hill leaning toward Knicks, not Suns

The conventional wisdom is that, like so many people in their “golden years,” Grant Hill was going to spend the rest of his (playing) days in the warm sun and great training facilities of Phoenix.

But maybe he is going to trade that in for a cold but exciting New York Winter.

That’s what Marc Berman at the New York Post is suggesting.

Grant Hill’s interest in joining the Knicks and being slotted as their starting shooting guard on a potential Eastern Conference contender is growing by the day, and there is a sense he is leaning toward the Big Apple.

Hill is a free agent who can go where he chooses. This is a combination lifestyle and basketball decision. Basketball wise, the Knicks are on the rise and he would be the starting two guard with Chauncey Billups, Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire on the floor. Meanwhile the Suns are riding out the days until the post Steve Nash rebuilding begins, that is a thin roster. But as a family with two elementary school age children, living in beautiful, warm, more suburban Scottsdale may feel a better fit than the bustle of New York City. (Hill is not the kind likely to leave his family in Phoenix and play in NYC, his family almost certainly will come with him.)

If I had to bet I would bet on him staying with the Suns. But it seems that the decision is up in the air now, which is different than it felt to most observers a few days ago.

Bradley Beal drives around, dunks over Kristaps Porzingis (VIDEO)

If you’re a Knicks fan, the positive is that at least Kristaps Porzingis tried to make a play.

But he was not going to stop the athletic Bradley Beal with a full head of steam, and the result was a Beal dunking over Porzingis as he tries to block the attempt.

Beal wasn’t sharp, scoring 12 points on 5-of-14 shooting. The Knicks has an efficient Carmelo Anthony and that got them the win.
